“We’d say that the best way to describe Portugal Trails is “They have it covered.”  You were meticulous in your planning, logistics, communication, support materials, and trouble shooting.  We like that you kept checking in during our tour. You obviously have a great relationship with the various accommodations and guides included on our tour because the level of services received was generally exceptional, well selected and matched to our preferences. We appreciated that you provided many more opportunities than we could have taken and that we were able to pick and choose depending on our interests and energy levels.  The guided but self-selecting tour worked. Finding and delivering our lost personal items must have taken significant initiative and effort (and some expense).  We suspect that few tour consultants would rise to that level of service.  We really appreciated that. The GPS was generally conveniently programmed for us even though on the odd occasion it made mistakes (e.g. getting one way streets wrong).  In summary, if touring again in country you serve we would use Portugal Trails again without hesitation.”

“My husband Val & I had a wonderful time traveling in Portugal. This extraordinary experience would not have been possible without the perfect planning & customized itinerary that you & your staff put together despite numerous changes that were requested during our pre trip communications.  Right from our arrival & transfer from the airport to the hotel & to every small detail on the elaborate itinerary on the road book that was provided to us & completely trusting your judgement on these details, we were so glad that it worked out very well. On our decent into Lisbon airport , we were able to see a sea of pastel pinks, yellows & blues that dot the hills of the spectacular capital. our walking tour guides Natalie in Lisbon ,Andre in porto & Paul in Evora were very friendly & very knowledgeable & walked us through the most historic sites & it was like boarding on a time traveling machine that took us through centuries of history to clearly understand why these cities look like in present time. Celia our full day driver to Sintra was very helpful in guiding us with information on the location of the palaces. The Pre programmed GPS is like a life saver & it was put to full use especially when we had to leave a city & get to the highway was pretty challenging . Our rental car was a perfect size & it was so much fun driving on the highway. Our drives were among the highlights of our trip. There is nothing like the freedom of spontaneously heading for a village  & discovering an amazing castle. At times  we found ourselves laughing in disbelief at the tiny & narrow lanes that the GPS  was directing us to. Sure enough it was in Douro valley ! The hotels in different cities that we stayed at were great choices made by your company & so very centrally located. Despite their very central location it was so quiet & peaceful that we always had a great nights sleep. Thank you for a list of historical places & sites as well as the names of restaurants provided to us on the road book. We were able to explore almost all of them. The Cathedral in Evora & National palace in Sintra, Coimbra & the Douro cruise were my list of favorites. While Our favorite restaurants in Evora was Cafe Alentejo ,Sacramento in Lisbon , Hool in Guimaraes & Cervejaria Brasao for a  Francesinha & craft beer in Aliodos.  The fado performance was an amazing experience for us & we absolutely loved it.  Once again we want to thank you Catarina for making this trip so memorable.”
