“Dear Joao, Gayle and I loved our trip to Portugal! The hotels that were chosen for us, each different from the other, were a special experience themselves. The itinerary was the perfect introduction to Portugal. In particular, I liked the days with the private guides. We learned so much and it was wonderful to have personal dialogue with each of them. It is exciting to see the many historical sights but equally wonderful to have one on one conversations with those who live there.  I will always remember that. Because gasoline is expensive, it was helpful to have a hybrid car. We loved having our own transportation and the freedom it brings. The breakfasts in each hotel were an unexpected pleasure. It was nice to start out each day with a delicious meal. It allowed us to sample Portuguese food throughout the rest of the day in smaller meals which we preferred. There is so much I could say about how we loved your country. We were treated nicely everywhere we went. I do hope to come back someday and wouldn’t hesitate to use Portugal Trails.”

“Joana, our trip was fabulous.  The printed guide was extremely detailed and we used many of your suggestions.  Also – having the GPS preprogrammed was very helpful. We enjoyed having the freedom to plan our days with lots of guidance from you.  Our only complaint is that the trip was not long enough!   The guides for the city tours and boat ride were knowledgeable, friendly, gave us lots of good information and useful tips – we thoroughly enjoyed them all.  The accommodations were great – the converted convents were beautiful and interesting.  Our locations in both Lisbon and Porto were very convenient – we love to walk and use public transportation as much as possible.  We decided to take a train to Pinhao instead of driving that day – it was a fun adventure and the scenery was beautiful riding along the Douro.  I would highly recommend Portugal Trails and we are thinking of traveling in the future with friends.  We will definitely be in contact if we return.”
